Kinnawa is the CEO and Executive Producer of AfricanThunder Inc.
Kinnawa AfricanThunder Kaitibi is a first-generation native of Memphis with roots in Sierra Leone, West Africa. With eleven years of experience within the communication/PR industry, Kinnawa has established himself as a professional with great knowledge and expertise.
Kinnawa graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication/Media Studies and is attending the University of Memphis for his Master’s in Communication: Film and Video Production. He currently serves as the Marketing Manager at the City of Memphis, the Social Media Contributor/Host of Jermaine Dupri’s G14: Thr Cut, and the Communication Director for The Dreams Foundation, a Memphis based nonprofit organization.
Kinnawa has gained valuable experience in municipal government, agency public relations, and celebrity entertainment roles. He has always been passionate about working with and learning about different clients and their unique challenges. This experience has helped him develop a strong understanding of the industry and the ability to think creatively to solve problems.
Kinnawa works on various creative projects in his spare time, such as producing short films and managing musical artists. He is always seeking new ways to express himself and tell stories. He values spending time with family and friends and is known for his positive attitude and willingness to help others. He aims to achieve his goals and positively impact the world by constantly improving himself and assisting others.
Kinnawa lives by a quote he developed: “Pain is temporary, fear is inadequate, and failure is unacceptable.”
*As of June 2020, Kinnawa was ranked within the top 1000 Social Media Influencers from Sierra Leone via Starngage. He currently remains on this and reached a top spot of 45 in film, entertainment, humor, and family topics.
